Admission Criteria
The PGP is a limited intake program. This allows for focused inputs and career guidance to the admitted students. With a holistic profile evaluation framework, the Class of '24 had an acceptance rate of under 5%.
Entrance Examinations Accepted
We accept scores from leading national and international entrance tests, including CAT, XAT, NMAT and GMAT.
If you have not appeared for any of these exams, applicants can opt to take the Altera National Aptitude Test (ALNAT) which is conducted periodically.
Academic Criteria
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates who are in their final year of bachelor’s degree or awaiting results are also eligible.
Profile + Examination based Evaluation
The admissions are based on a holistic evaluation process that considers your profile, examination scores and the quality of application as a first screening. Selected applicants are invited for interactions with the faculty and directors at the institute basis which offers for admission are made. Altera Institute spends a lot of time and effort in this process to ensure right mutual fit.

Admissions Process
Applicants are assessed basis a composite profile score that takes into account both pre application profile & post application performance
Your pre-application profile comprises 50% of your composite score. This includes

The application form (predominantly the essay questions) has a 10% weight in the composite profile score.

Applicants are given a short case which has information and data about a business situation. The case has some thought starters and questions which become the start point for a detailed case breakdown with a mentor from Altera Institute.
Selected applicants get to meet with one of the founders/founding team members to assess behavioral fitment for the program. The conversation revolves around the applicant's past experiences, interests and ambitions.

Selected applicants receive an offer for admission to the PGP in Applied Marketing. Their seat is considered reserved on payment of the admission fee before the deadline.
All applicants to the program receive one of three decisions - Accepted, Waitlisted or Rejected. These can be tracked in the Application Form section on the website.

After submitting your application, if you haven’t taken any competitive exam or if your scores don’t meet the cut-off , but we see strong potential in your profile, you’ll be automatically enrolled for the ALNAT at no additional fee.

We believe in a holistic evaluation process that considers your diverse experiences and potential for growth. To qualify for the program, you must have a minimum of 50% or equivalent scores in your undergraduate studies.
Altera Institute has a limited intake and applying early increases your chances of securing an admit. There are certain scholarships reserved for applicants in earlier rounds as well.
